POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN TWO PROGRAMS. Inwood Community Services, Inc.

Inwood Community Services, Inc. is seeking qualified applicants for several positions in two programs: The Summer Youth Employment Program and the English as a Second Official Language (ESOL) Program.


ICS’ Summer Youth Employment Program

SYEP Coordinator: Bachelor-level bi-lingual (Spanish-English) candidate with strong multitasking administrative skills. Must have strong computer skill sets. Candidate must be a personable team-player with an ability to manage over a dozen staff and engage youth effectively. Depending on performance during the summer there may be an opportunity for employment during the school-year. (Full-time during the summer)


SYEP Program Aide: Individual with strong organizational and computer skill sets. Bi-lingual skills (Spanish-English) are a plus. (12hrs/wk April to June; 30hrs/wk during summer.)


Educational Advisor: Bachelor-level individual with strong presentation skills and ability to coordinate and facilitate educational workshops for teenagers. Individual should be bi-lingual (Spanish-English) and have good computer skills(~25hrs/wk during summer)


SYEP Site Monitor: High school graduate with strong communication and interpersonal skill sets. Must be able to conduct weekly worksite visits in the neighborhood and manage corresponding paperwork. Bi-lingual Spanish/English speaking skills a plus. (30hrs/wk during summer)


Youth Counselor: Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) graduate-level individual in the counseling profession with an ability to engage and develop a rapport with inner-city adolescents. Strong organizational and computer skills sets a plus(~28hrs/wk during summer)

ICS’ English as a Second Language Program (ESOL)

Student Outreach Coordinating Clerk: Responsibilities include developing publicity materials and coordinating outreach to promote the program’s ESOL classes, contacting and assisting students, and some clerical duties. Schedule will be ten to 16 hours per week on Mondays and Wednesdays, generally 1PM – 9:30PM with some morning hours possible. Bachelor’s Degree preferred, fluency in English and Spanish is required. Salary to start at or around $12/hour, depending on experience.
