The battle for real health care reform has begun. President Obama's plan, making good on his campaign commitment, has now come under fierce attack from the same entrenched forces that have prevented real reform from happening for more than 50 years. Here's a story from today's NY Times:

It is time for the voice of the people to be heard. On June 25 thousands of people will descend on Washington to rally and then meet with their Congressional representatives. For us in NY that means town hall meetings with Senators Schumer and Gillebrand and the House NY Congressional delegation. This is the only way we are going to win this battle, by mobilizing the way we did to get Barack Obama elected President. He told us we were going to have to do this--and now is the time.
